What is the bespoke design process?
1. First & foremost, we'll book in some time for a 1 hour telephone or Skype consultation. We'll establish your ideas, themes, colours & get to know a bit more about your personalities. We'll ask you to provide any moodboards or images you have been compiling for your stationery & wedding. Afterwards, you'll receive a brief containing all the ideas discussed in the consultation.
2. Payment is made.
3. Once payment has cleared, design work will commence.
4. You'll receive initial pencil sketches of the design layout, & we'll await your feedback. Then, as soon as we have made more progress we'll send you the first watercolour elements of the design to ensure we are on the right track.
5. All guns ablaze as we continue working on your stationery, checking in with you regularly. If any small changes need to be made, we will do so immediately, developing the design towards the final version.
6. On approval of the final design, the completed files will be emailed across.
What's included in a bespoke design package?
We put in long design hours into getting your stationery just right. We do not charge per invite, but for the work we put into producing the entire design from start to finish. That includes all the fun stuff; consultation & communication time, research, hand painted illustrations, graphic design, & all the boring business stuff in between!
If you'd like a wedding invitation suite, we can include the following:
Save the Date, Invitation (ceremony & reception), RSVP, Info Card. We can also help with maps, thank you cards & more!
If you'd like matching 'On the Day' stationery then opt for place cards, programs, table plans, table numbers, menu's etc.
How long does it take to complete bespoke stationery?
It can take anywhere between 2-12 weeks depending on our current workload & the complexity of your design. We can give you a far better time frame if you contact us with your wedding date.
How long does it take to input my information on a pre-designed suite?
So long as we have your information in full, we can get the files across to you in 2 working days.
How do I pay for bespoke stationery?
After being invoiced you may pay securely via Paypal, or direct bank transfer.
How do I pay for pre-designed stationery?
You may pay securely via Paypal. If you don't have a Paypal account then please contact us.
Can I break down the payments for bespoke stationery?
If it helps, of course. We require 50% to begin work, & you can pay the remaining 50% on completion.
Do I have to know what my style/theme/colours are for a bespoke stationery design?
Not at all, although it certainly helps. We've had couples come to us with a completely blank canvas. It's our job to craft something special from scratch, & together. Let's discuss it.
I don't quite like certain elements of the pre-designed suites, can you change them?
Quite possibly depending on your requirements. Tell us what you'd like changed.
Can I cancel my order for bespoke stationery?
You may only cancel your order & receive a full refund within 24 hours of payment; after which it acts as a non-refundable deposit. Any major changes to the design which deviate from the original brief will incur a charge.
Can I cancel my order for pre-designed stationery?
You may only cancel your order & receive a full refund within 24 hours of payment; after which the work is custom, & so non-refundable.
Can you include my pet in a bespoke stationery design?!
Yes! We work from your photo(s) to capture the character of your pet. We paint by hand using watercolours to create a portrait, then it is converted digitally.
Do you only offer digital files?
Yes. On completion we email across your digital file(s) rather than printing & shipping. This means you have no print limitations associated. You may print as many as you like, & onto whatever cardstock you like. You can even request a file with an image of your main design only, which means you can have it printed for your personal use on a mug, t-shirt, or for a framed print!
You also have more control on how quickly you'll be able to receive the stationery, eliminating postage time & us having to schedule the work in with the printers. Or, don't print at all & send e-invitations instead!
What advice do you offer for printing?
It's highly reccommended that you send the file(s) to professional printers rather than printing from home.
-Digital printing is cheaper, & of a great standard. It's the type we use for our product photography.
-Lithographic printing is more traditional & often more expensive.
If you like the look of the stationery in our gallery then opt for a crisp, bright white, smooth, matte cardstock. The white really makes the colours in the design pop.
Go for a minimum weight of 300gsm.
Ensure you request a proof before going ahead & printing the whole lot. Proofs are normally free. If there's any issue with the design then let us know immediately.
Tell the printers that you will need the invites & RSVP's printed on both sides. We will include crop marks so they can trim to the correct size.
Inform them of the dimensions. They are as follows:
-Invite (square) 140mm x 140mm with a 3mm bleed.
-Invite (rectangle) 210mm x 99mm with a 3mm bleed.
-RSVP 148mm x 105 mm with a 3mm bleed.
-Info Card 148mm x 105 mm with a 3mm bleed.
-Save the Date 148mm x 105 mm with a 3mm bleed.
Don't forget that you need to print numbers for every household rather than every guest! This will lower the print cost if you haven't taken this into consideration already.
If you require further printing advice, please don't hesitate to contat us.
Which envelopes will fit my invitations?
You can find envelopes easily online. The following will fit:
Square Invites fit: 150mm x 150mm. Sometimes it's easier to find 155mm x 155mm envelopes which fit perfectly too.
Rectangle Invites fit: DL envelopes.
NB, RSVP's & Info cards will fit into both sizes.
